State Manager – Victoria Australian Institute of Company Directors

Michael Whitty MAICD joined the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2006. He led AICD Victoria’s Member Relations team for 8 years. This team was responsible for providing member support and service to around 11,000 members.

In 2014 he was appointed Operations Manager for the Victoria Division before taking on the national role as Manager Member and Client Support.

From August – December 2017 he was Acting State Manager AICD Tasmania and was Acting State Manager AICD Victoria in 2019 being appointed as State Manager -Victoria in late 2019.

He has presented at numerous AICD events such as Finding Board Positions and Boards Seeking Directors and has worked with Director Nexus* groups. He has assisted members in dealing with difficult issues on their boards and guided members in mapping out a professional development pathway and how to optimise their board careers.

Michael’s previous career experience has supported his current member and client centric role having held roles as CEO of a time critical courier company and numerous senior management roles within the retail, manufacturing and wholesale sectors in Australia and the UK.

*Director Nexus is an AICD initiative where groups of members meet monthly with an experienced Chair to discuss governance/board issues in a confidential setting.
