Our Opening Retreat 2016
Our LGSC Opening Retreat was held at the beautiful Warrnambool Deakin Campus which is nestled along the Hopkins River.
Our 16 aspiring leaders from across the Great South Coast attended the intensive two days, facilitated by leadership coach and trainer Corrinne Armour. Covering topics such as Situational Leadership to Social intelligence and much more.
The participants found the two days both challenging and extremely rewarding, learning to step outside their comfort zones and take the leap towards becoming confident leaders.
It was evident after 24 hours the bonds and friendships between the participants were incredibly strong and supportive. What an exciting start to our 2016 program.
Special thanks to JP and Tonia at Ginger Kitchen for their fantastic food and conference coordination.
Project up in lights
Great news – with financial support of the AL Lane Foundation the Ngatanwarr Mural (cnr Merri and Kepler Streets, Warrnambool) is now lit up nightly, check it out after dusk, it looks spectacular. You can also get a great view from the Melbourne evening train.
The mural was painted by international artist Adnate Completed in March 2015 it is a spectacular addition to our regions street art and celebrates the Gunditjamara people.
For the full story click here and vist the Warrnambool Street Art site to see the making of the mural including an interview with Adnate.
This project was a 2014 LGSC initiative in partnership with the Warrnambool Art Galley (WAG), Gunditjamara, The F Project and SWTAFE. Thanks to our project partners for your support.
